A forward-looking perspective is essential for excellent designers. Dan YEONG, a designer at EDU-SCIENCE (H.K.), pointed out that exploratory toys first became popular in Europe, but the curiosity of children is universal. "Foreign children often explore nature, while STEM education has contributed to the increasing popularity of exploratory toys in Hong Kong too," he explained.

Dan and his team designed educational and experimental toys, including the awarded My First Interactive Circuit Set - Wooden Block & Block. By customizing the modules with a mini piano keyboard, motors, LED lights, switches, and other components in ways that are easy for children to grasp, they can learn about different scientific principles. The product is made from eco-friendly FSC-certified wood according to what Dan foresees, "Foreign parents have a strong environmental awareness, and Hong Kong is also promoting environmental protection. Being eco-friendly is very helpful for sustainable development."

Broaden Horizons and Go Global!
In a place where East meets West, broadening the horizons is not hard given that Hong Kong designers have an open mindset. "This is not limited to what is visible. Market trends, cultures, philosophies all contribute to design. By embracing diverse perspectives, Hong Kong design will increasingly gain international recognition," he believed.
