The Growth of a Designer
The dazzling array of products is the brainchild of designers who have spent their best efforts and even suffered setbacks. The Tea Bottle designed by Tancy Chan, a student of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong(THEi) , is a good example as it originates from her disastrous experience in design.

The “disaster” she refers to is a hot water boiler with the function of brewing tea, "I tried too hard to add the element of tea brewing on a water boiler, which caused the size problem and caused big inconvenience to users,", Tancy recalls.

In the Face of Setbacks
Her perseverance finally paid off with an inspiration from her daily life, "I saw some portable coffee machines when I was hanging around in malls. I also observed my grandfather who enjoys brewing tea alone," said Tancy. As hiking and camping is increasingly popular, the Tea Bottle with the functions of heating, storage of tea leaves and teacup allow people to enjoy tea in outdoor activities.

According to Andy Sir, Tancy’s teacher, students often forget to make the products easy-to-use. Fortunately, they have a second chance, “It is normal for students to make mistakes. Learning from the mistakes makes one grow,”, said Andy Sir.
