Design emphasizes newness, but not for the sake of being new. The WarmerShoulder, produced by KnitWarm Limited, utilizes smart textile technology, inserting conductive yarn into the fabric to form a flexible circuit design that warms a shoulder and relax tense muscle, to improve people’s lives.

Close-to-life Innovativeness
Stephen NG, Technical Director and designer of KnitWarm Limited, stated that when it comes to innovation, the impression is often something unprecedented or even epoch-making, but he hopes to be close to ordinary life, “Not just pursuing high-end products, but they should be easy to use,” said Stephen. The 88-gram WarmerShoulder is an example. With a diagonal elastic strap, it can be easily buckled on the pants without affecting daily activities.

The product originated from a conversation with a physiotherapist. The design team learned that the shoulder is the most difficult area for hot application, and after more than a year of research, the Creative Director, Stanley KWOK, states that communication with different sectors is important, “We can collaborate to create products that enhance quality of life, and also make the design industry more interesting,” he said.
